Text consists of Śaṅkara's Chāndogyopaniṣad-vivaraṇa, or Commentary on the Chāndogya Upaniṣad.
Text begins: om ity etad akṣaram ityādyaṣṭāddhyāyī chāndogyopaniṣat | tasyās saṃkṣepatortthajijñāsubhyaḥ ṛjuvivaraṇam alpagranthañ cedaṃ bhāṣyam ārabhyate | tatra saṃbandhaḥ samastaṃ karmmādhigataṃ prāṇādidevatāsahitam arccirādimārgeṇa brahmapratipattikāraṇaṃ | etc.
It ends: iti śrī-Govinda-bhagavat-pādapūjya-śiṣyasya śrīparamahaṃsaparivrājakācāryyasya śrīmac-Chaṃkara-bhagavataḥ kṛtau cchāndogyopaniṣad [sic] vivaraṇe aṣṭamaḥ prapāṭhakas samāptaḥ || hariḥ | om | … śrīsarasvatyai namaḥ | śrīmahālakṣmyai namaḥ | pārvatyai namaḥ ||
